EMSP Runs for Multiple Sclerosis Awareness

03.11.2024

The European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP) joined the Brussels Airport Marathon to demonstrate the strength of the European MS Movement and highlight the importance of physical activity for people living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

As part of the Young People’s Network initiative, twelve dedicated runners represented EMSP, with eight participants completing the half marathon and four finishing the 7K distance. The team included both people living with MS and supporters, all united in their mission to raise awareness and advocate for the MS community in Brussels.

The event’s success was made possible through the support of corporate sponsors including Roche, Sanofi, Merck, Amgen, and Novartis. Their backing of the Young People’s Network proved essential in enabling EMSP’s participation in this significant event.

The community’s dedication shone through successful fundraising efforts, which totaled 2,819 euros. Notable contributions came from the top three fundraisers: Jana Hlavacova, Guillem Puig Comerma, and Cornelia Pauna, whose commitment exemplified the power of individual action in advancing MS awareness.

Through the combined efforts of participants, sponsors, and fundraisers, the Brussels Airport Run served as an effective platform for raising awareness about MS and the importance of community support. The EMSP team extends its gratitude to all supporters who contributed to this meaningful initiative, reinforcing the ongoing mission of advocating for better care and support for people living with MS across Europe.
