
Mary McCusker
Mary McCusker was elected to the Board of EMSP in April 2026. She brings extensive experience in community health and service development, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for people living with chronic conditions.
Mary studied international development and health promotion at universities in the UK and Ireland, developing a particular interest in the links between community development and health outcomes.
She has worked for MS Ireland for nine years, including in a frontline role as a Regional Community Worker, supporting people to access to services and supports. In recent years, she has moved into service development, contributing to the design and enhancement of programmes to better meet the needs of people affected by MS.
Throughout her career, Mary has focused primarily on supporting communities experiencing disadvantage to improve health and wellbeing. She has a particular interest in developing opportunities for peer interaction and support, recognising the value of shared experiences and vicarious learning.
Through her role on the EMSP Board, Mary is committed to contributing their expertise to support inclusive, community-led initiatives across the organisation.
