MS Barometer 2025-2027
The MS Barometer is a benchmarking tool that maps access to care, employment, and empowerment of people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) across European countries. It provides a comprehensive snapshot of national policies and services, highlighting gaps and opportunities for improvement.
There have been six editions of the Barometer since its launch. This makes it one of the longest-running comparative policy tools in the MS field. Explore the 2020 MS Barometer.
Since its launch, the Barometer has been used by national MS societies and decision-makers to inform advocacy and policy development. It reflects the lived experience of people with MS and offers a data-driven foundation for change.
Plans for 2025–2027
We are currently working on the next edition of the Barometer (2025–2027), which will build on previous editions and introduce new dimensions:
-
Updated indicators on access to healthcare, employment, social support, and digital services. This edition will cover MS but also Neuromyelitis optica (NMO) and myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD).
-
A renewed data collection tool with a stronger focus on patient-reported outcomes.
- A renewed round of data collection and analysis to produce new edition of the MS Barometer reports.
-
Visual and interactive dashboards on findings for greater visibility and engagement.
Partners
The Barometer is a collaborative effort, coordinated by the European Multiple Sclerosis Platform with the involvement of national MS Societies across Europe, academic and policy experts, and people living with MS contributing through surveys and consultations. The list of the partners will be updated in 2025.
