Italian MS Society launches collaboration with the National Civil Protection Service

30.11.2022

The Italian MS Society (AISM) has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Civil Protection in Italy, an organ of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, to make information and awareness on civil protection more and more effective and inclusive for people affected by multiple sclerosis or disability.

The goal is to ensure increasingly widespread dissemination of the culture of civil protection as protection and self-protection in the event of an emergency.

The protocol – lasting three years – provides for collaboration also through activity, study, and social research, with the intention of improving legislation on social policies.

“It is increasingly important to promote a dimension of the institutional partnership between the third sector and institutions based on sharing evidence, building models, a common definition of the MS Agenda, joint and participatory implementation of actions and projects, up to also arrive at a shared measurement and evaluation of results. So we thank the Civil Protection for being concretely alongside the 133,000 people with multiple sclerosis in Italy ”

– said Francesco Vacca, National President of AISM.

Once again the Italian MS Society (AISM) showed a great example in Europe on how to promote collaboration with institutions to work on a common strategy, another clear example of how the work of the 2025 Italian MS Agenda and related diseases is progressing.
