EFNA launches Interest Group on Brain, Mind and Pain

EMSP’s partners at the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA) have launched the Parliamentary Interest Group on Brain, Mind and Pain. The event took place on 24 February, in Brussels, in the presence of European decision-makers as well as health specialists, representatives of patient organisations and pharmaceutical industry.

Officially launching the group, Member of the European Parliament Marian Harkin stressed the impact and prevalence of neurological and chronic pain disorders.

Currently, 1 in 3 Europeans are affected by a brain disorder and 1 in 5 by chronic pain. This is rising due to the ageing population.
