Lydia Makaroff

Lydia Makaroff is the Chief Executive of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF) and a permanent observer at the European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP).

Lydia has experience in global health advocacy, patient-centred research, and public policy. Before joining MSIF, she held leadership positions at international patient organisations, including the World Bladder Cancer Patient Coalition. She has also worked in academia, the pharmaceutical industry, and the non-profit sector, focusing on public health and improving healthcare outcomes for people living with chronic conditions.

With a PhD in medical research and a Master’s in Public Health, Lydia is committed to advancing global collaboration in multiple sclerosis research, advocacy, and support. She works closely with MS organisations worldwide to drive positive change for people affected by MS.
