Aoife Kirwan was elected an EMSP Board Member in April 2022. She is currently MS Ireland’s Information, Advocacy and Research Officer.
Aoife has an undergraduate degree in Visual Art and she has recently completed a postgrad in Healthcare Innovation through Trinity College Dublin.
As a person living with MS, Aoife has used her lived experience to positively contribute to the MS community in Ireland by acting as a spokesperson, ambassador, and blogger. Her role in raising awareness of MS in college campuses across Ireland and the development of a dedicated informationevent for young people living with MS helped earn Aoife the President’s Award from the Union of Students in Ireland.
In addition to her various roles with MS Ireland Aoife acts as a patient advocate in other forums. She is a member of the Committee in Ireland which makes recommendations regarding the reimbursement of new medications in Ireland. Aoife is part of the FutureNeuro Patient Public Involvement Panel through The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. Aoife has also volunteered for Shift.MS as part of their MS Reporters project.
